How we choose what to recommend
- Specifications come from the manufacturer. Weight, flight time, camera, range and compatibility come from the maker’s own documentation. We link to it and note the date we checked.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars and dated. We check Canadian retailers and show when we last did. The retailer’s price at checkout is the one that counts.
- We say who should skip it. Every recommendation includes the buyer it doesn’t suit and its main limitations.
- We label how we know. Each guide is marked either Researched comparison (built from documentation and published sources; we haven’t flown it) or Hands-on (we’ve used it, and the guide says how, for how long and in what conditions).
- No invented experience. We don’t publish made-up test results, flight logs, ratings, testimonials or reviewers.
- Images. Product photos come from the manufacturer or retailer under their permitted use, or are our own. Illustrations are labelled as illustrations.
- Canadian rules. Regulatory content links to Transport Canada. It’s general information, not legal or aviation advice. Check the current rules before you fly.
Money and independence
We may earn a commission when you buy through some links on this site. Retailers and manufacturers don’t review or approve our guides before publication, and a commission never decides what we recommend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
